Viktoria Grace

Viktoria Grace is a Slovak-born poet, nurse, and author whose work turns personal wounds into sources of light and healing.

Born in Humenné, Slovakia (then Czechoslovakia), in the far eastern part of the country near the Ukrainian border, she later made her home in Texas. As a nurse, she has long walked alongside others in moments of vulnerability; that same impulse of care and presence flows through her writing. She is also a mother, a seeker of grace, and a woman who has walked through divorce, childhood memories, and the quiet work of reclaiming her own voice.

Her debut poetry collection, Unthorned Rose, gathers songs, verses, and prayer-like pieces that transform pain into beauty. The book is structured in sections that move from biblical-inflected songs and prayers toward deeper self-understanding, ending in notes of amen and quiet resolution. It is less a collection of polished performance pieces and more a living record of how ink and tears can become medicine—how the thorns of loss, heartbreak, and old wounds can be softened by patience, self-compassion, and love.

Unthorned Rose speaks to anyone who has carried silent pain and wondered whether words could ever hold it. Viktoria’s pages offer not escape, but companionship: the steady reminder that what once pierced can, in time, bloom.

Her writing and presence continue to invite readers into the same alchemy she practices—turning what hurt into what heals.

Book Release 〰️

Welcome to The Unthorned Rose. I hope these pages become more than simply a book you read, but a quiet place where you can pause, reflect, and perhaps see your own story in a new light. Whether you come here carrying heartache, searching for inspiration, or simply looking for a moment of peace, my hope is that The Unthorned Rose will encourage you, inspire you, and leave you with a small piece of healing to carry with you. Take your time, turn the page, and welcome to the journey.

My words go unheard, my voice without sound,
The more that I speak, the more they tear down.
They try to break me, they tell me to quit,
Spitting on my face with venom and grit.

So I step back, hold it deep in my mind,
Voices keep screaming, no peace do I find.
No one will listen, no one will see,
The weight of the silence crushing me.

Pages I fill with my secret pain,
Writing my darkness, healing my brain.
Pen in my hand, I mend every part,
Bleeding my sorrow, healing my heart.

Tears fall like rain, washing my cries,
When the ink is dry, I rise and I rise.
Breathing in deep, ready to stand,
Living my life by my own hand.
